Al's story is as old as time itself. Raised in the jungles of New Jersey and transported as a teen to the Sunshine State with his family. Al managed to survive and prosper in a relative state of confusion, knowing that someday he would find his true calling. And so the search continues.
As a founding member of the Florida based band "The Ashley Gang" Al has been playing his tunes at festivals, coffee house, and concerts throughout the state of Florida and beyond. Al has won and placed in many songwriting contests over the years, which is pretty astonishing considering his mediocre grasp of the english language.
Al's song Gibtown has been used in the documentary "Animism: People Who Love Objects". An independent film out of Canada. Put it on your short list of docs to investigate.
Al has also had the pleasure of performing his song "The Ashley Gang" on the Discovery Channel's "Expedition Unknown" for the "Chasing Everglades Treasure" episode. Accompanied by longtime friend and bandmate, Bob Bronar on lead guitar, the recording of this segment was n adventure unto itself. If you care to track it down, it's season 10, episode 10.
Recently relocated to Franklin, NC, Al has landed in what would appear to be a refuge for many wayward Florida musicians and songwriters. The transition to the mountains of NC has been a refreshing change for a longtime flatlander.
Al has been busy writing new tunes and working in the new and improved recording studio since arriving in the mountains.
